Capt. JC Smith comes from a family of fishermen who are no strangers to the history of Matagorda Bay and Texas Gulf Coast area. The Smith family has been fishing and hunting the Matagorda county area since their family's arrival here on the Texas Gulf Coast in 1845 and Capt. JC continues this tradition.

Capt. JC Smith offers offer fun-filled fishing or hunting trips on East and West Matagorda Bays. If you need a place to stay, he can also help arrange lodging in the nearby Matagorda Bay area. Fishing the Matagorda bays for 45 years, we fish with lures or live bait for trout, reds, flounder, triple tail etc. from my 22ft Tri-Hull or wading on the flats.
